WYSIWYG & Firefox Can't Post
I attempted to use WYSIWYG in the Firefox browser and could not. It works fine in IE6 on the same site. Any thoughts? Firefox is getting to be a more prolific browser and suspect more users will have the same issue.

The WYSIWYG editor that is used in Page Publisher is something that is only able to be used in Internet Explorer 5.5+ on a windows machine.

The WYSIWYG is actually called htmlArea and it's an open source product that we have orphaned off onto it's own site. For more information about htmlArea you can take a look here:

So Mike...since HTML Area has been updated to support Firefox (at least in the beta).... when it goes gold will PagePublisher update to use the new version that supports Firefox? I'm really finding it a pain to have to always open MSIE to work with PP.

Hi Sheila,

You will be happy to know that Page Publisher 1.25 has been released. This upgrade includes the addition of the TinyMCE cross-browser WYSIWYG editor.

So it now supports Windows and Mac OS X browsers:
- Firefox 1.0+, Mozilla 1.7+, and Netscape 7.1+
- Internet Explorer 5.5+ (Windows only)

Hi all, I just upgrade my version of PP to the latest and I'm not able to see the wyswyg editor on my browser (I'm on a Mac OS X) Mozilla firefox 1.51 and/or Safari... do I need to activate something or do I'm missing something.

The files I upgrade was the main program, all the templates and I also upload the tiny_mce directory inside the images directory.

Thanks for pointing me to the proper direction.

Hi Jesus,

From what you've mentioned it does sound like the WYSIWYG editor should be working in Firefox on the Mac. The TinyMCE editor isn't actually designed to work in Safari so that's why you're not seeing it come up in there.

There could be a couple of things that are preventing the WYSIWYG editor from showing up and this may actually be a bit easier to sort out if I could have a closer look at it. You'll just want to fill out a Support Request with your FTP details here:

This should allow me to get onto the server and have a closer look for you.
