WAMP Installation Question Can't Post

Hi all,

Have Page Publisher working well on a production Linux box. However, I'm messing about with some development stuff that I'd like to test on my 'beat up' box. This later machine is Windows XP Pro SP2 OS, running Apache, PERL, PHP, MySQL, etc. Other CGI-BIN files are being processed well.

The problem lies with the installation portion. Have put all the files and directories into the called-for folders :

Into "drive:\path\Apache\cgi-bin\pp\"
data, templates, config.ini, pp.cgi, index.html, vconfig.dat

Into "drive:\path\www\pp\"
images, uploads

A browser visit to: http://localhost/cgi-bin/pp/
generates an 'Internal Server Error' The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I've tried putting all the files sub to the web root/pp/ directory but that gets similar results.

The docs all deal with LAMP installs (very sensibly) and some WIMP installs, but this WAMP thing is getting acronymically challenged... and not working! Crazy

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

J.

EDIT: 24 hours later: Found it. Just had to change the pp.cgi shebang line to the right path.

However, during the installation process I came accross the every explicit "Thou Shalt Not Install More Than One Copy" license section. You'll be pleased to know that I removed PP directly following a single test.

I will surely be recommending this product to certain clients.

Best wishes,

J.

Re: [Judis] WAMP Installation Question [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Judis,

Thanks for the post! Smile

I'm glad to hear that you got the installation running and managed to test it out.

Just a quick note about the license agreement. The license is good for one installation at any given time. That said, if you'd like to install a copy of the software on a site that isn't public for development and testing purposes that's completely understandably and not a problem.

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to let me know! Smile

Re: [MikeB] WAMP Installation Question [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello again Mike,

Thanks very kindly. The clarification is much appreciated.
I was hoping to noodle with the editor so see it I could get another one to run on the system. Maybe I'll go back in and see what I can shake loose.

Best wishes,
J.
