Today's dumb question - adding images Can't Post

I'm recommending these tools in every proposal I write these days and I'm bound to get a bite soon.

Today's dumb question is about adding images when using Page Publisher. I can see from the demo that a user can add an image by inserting the URL of the image, if I'm right. But can they upload one from their computer?

Hi Amaranta,

Thanks for the question and the recommendations :)

With Page Publisher you can add an image by inserting the URL of the image. If that image is already uploaded onto the server the user can enter that image URL to include that image.

Currently though Page Publisher doesn't include an option to upload and manage images but that is on our feature request list.

Can you give advice on what code to use to create a user interface that will allow image uploads?

You could try having a look at the File Uploading section of "the .cgi resource index". See: http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/File_Management/File_Uploading/
This contains a variety of scripts which come with user-friendly interfaces for file uploading. One suggestion would be to password-protect a separate directory containing this script, so that only your Page Publisher user (and yourself!) could upload files using it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Ben.

I've been lost in the cgi websites for days looking at all the cool stuff available!
