Problem with Word cut and paste Can't Post
I have a customer that really needs to update some pages by cutting and pasting from Word, but we are getting a parsing error. Is there something I can do on my end to make this possible for them? I know that Word puts in some junk code and I'm sure this is causing most of the problems, but how can we work around this?

Hi ddaniels,

Thanks for posting.

Page Publisher uses htmlArea which is an open source application that is available for editing, so you can try using the modified editor that is posted in the user forum and see if that works the way that you need to.

Try that out and see if it helps!

Cliff:

I know it's been a while since you responded to this, but another one of my clients is having this same problem. Where can I find this other editor? Couldn't find it before, but the customer decided to just type into the htmlarea editor. This new customer HAS to cut and paste and there is a little line of code that causes a huge parsing error. If I go in and delete it, everything works great. But, he has to notify me each time to do that. I don't want that kind of "customer support"!! Smile Please help!!!!

Hi Debbie.

Thanks for posting!

There are a couple different things I can think of here. We’ll look at the easiest one first. Basically, instead of going right from word to Page Publisher, try pasting your content into a plain text file then copy it from there and paste into Page Publisher. This will effectively remove any formatting and anything that could cause a parseing error. The only drawback here is that you would need to add the bold, italics, etc stuff again.

The second option would be try installing an alternate editor for Page Publisher to use. Damon goes over how to set that up in this post:
