Is there a quick way to find PP pages Can't Post
Hi There.

I have been working on a particular site on and off for the last year. It was originally supposed to be 20-30 pages and I had Page Publisher involved from scratch. However the page design changed so much that I have not been able to provide the CMS access for the client, although the pp tags are in place on every page. This and the fact that the site has blown out to several hundred pages has left me in a bit of a predicament.

Within the next week or so I will have to prepare the CMS for them to use. Two things concern me. Firstly, I will have to select each of these pages individually and point to them through PP. And secondly, it works out very confusing for the client as there is no way of giving headings and subheadings for them to navigate through.

So I was wondering, is there a way to nominate a folder (or number of) and ask PP to detect pages with PP tags in them. This would help speed up the completion of the CMS. Or is there an upgrade to one of your other products that would help with this and the breaking into categories and subcategories of the items the end user will see.

Hi Doey,

At the moment, I'm afraid the only way to add Page Publisher pages is one at a time. However, to sort them with sub-headings, I'd recommend giving them names (in PP only) that let your users know where they came from. So, instead of just:

Category 1
Category 2
Category 3
Sub-category 1
Sub-category 2
Sub-category 3

...you could do this:


Category 1
Category 1: Sub-category 1
Category 1: Sub-category 2
Category 2
Category 2: Sub-category 3
Category 3

... and so on, however you needed it.

Hi Donna

Thanks for the reply. I had my fingers crossed on that one. No Problem, the long way it is then.

Can I ask your advice? Would there be any advantage in upgrading to another package (considering there a couple of hundred pages now)? Would I, setting up the CMS, or my clients, who will be the end user, gain anything from moving up within your product range?

Please note that there are now between three and eight images on about 95% of the pages. I am also using the MenuMachine plugin in GoLive to help with the site navigation. This is key to reigning in the constant changes to page layout and style that they making.

Hi there,

Not particularly, as none of our other products fill the rather unique role that Page Publisher does. Switching to Article Manager, for example, would run the entire site and create all of the pages for you. Since you've already done that... there's not much point of switching now.

That said, Article Manager *is* very good at managing things like page layout & style, as it's all template based. So, instead of managing 100-200 pages, you manage half a dozen, and all of the content is created based on those templates. Take a look at an online demo here if you'd like:
