Installation: Upload Directory ? Can't Post

I ordered page publisher and am waiting for the download to arrive but I was going over the installation instructions have and I have a question about the "upload directory".

I understand the concept of the "upload URL" directory but I am not familiar with the Upload Directory itself. I am not sure what to put in that box? In their example they give you:

Upl Dir: C:/File Server/path/to/pp/uploads

If I create a directory on my server called pp/uploads.. do I still use the code above /File server/path/to or does they want specific information about the name of the file server, the path name or the "to" info?

I see they also have a "browse box" to locate the upload directory but is that directory on my hard drive or the server? If it is on the server, how does it allow it to browse the server ?

Confused.. thanks for your help.

Re: [tstriplin] Installation: Upload Directory ? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi tstriplin,

Thanks for your post!

The upload directory setting in this case is going to be the file path to where you want uploads stored on your server. Since the software can't determine where to place files based off of an URL, this setting needs to be used to allow for file uploads.

This should make a bit more sense once you start using the software, but if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Smile
