NM lost passwords Can't Post

If anyone loses their password, how on earth can they retrieve it? surely there should be some sort of support or reminder option to avoid having to contact the administrator, and what if they forget theirs!!

Hi Dave.

Thanks for posting!

A password retrieval option is definitely on our feature request list but I don’t know specifically just yet how it’s going to be implemented. For the time being though, all your user names and passwords are stored on the web server so even if the administrator needs to get theirs again, there will be options. We are always here to help so getting the username and password for your administrator would be something we can lend a hand with.

How does that sound? Let me know if you need anymore details about this Smile.

Thanks Ross

I have retrieved the information required via the cgi file on the server.

I do feel that users being unable to retrieve their own passwords without contacting the administrator a key function that needs to be added to enhance the product.

Thanks for your help.

Hi doubleplus,

Thanks for the post! Smile

If you have FTP access to the server you can track down your username and password for News Manager in /nm/data/account.dat.cgi.

If you'd like me to track down the username and password for you then you'll just want to fill out a Support Request with your FTP details here:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions or comments, just let me know! Smile
