NM and CSS problem Can't Post
Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help me here?

I have created a site using xhtml and css. I am now incorporating NM to create a News section.

My problem is this. The site looks fine. I then create a new "_index.html" from my own site template and incorporate the NM fields into a "content" div on the new template. Layout looks fine locally.

I then upload the new _index.html template and re-publish the pages. I check on line and the layout has been broken.

I checked the source and noticed that the following has been added to the first line of the source code, <!-- Last Updated Mar 16th, 2007 11:22:57 -->

I downloaded the index file from the publish folder and manually removed this line and uploaded the file back to the publish folder. I check online again and the layout is now fine. This update comment is causing a problem.

Question: Can I stop NM from generating this line of code?

Hi Trev Mac,

Thanks for the post!

The code your mentioning is created by News Manager's meta generator tag, this tag will be generated at the very top of your webpage (above DOCTYPES), because of this Internet Explorer becomes confused and your whole layout will get thrown out of sorts. Firefox I have found is a little more kind to code that appears before the DOCTYPE. :)

Removing this code will be very easy all you will have to do is login to News Manager and go to 'Setup Options'. Under the "Publish Settings" section simply disable the 'Add meta generator tag' then select the 'Publish All' button.
