Login Problem Can't Post

Hi all,

I installed NM about a year ago. I am set as the administrator, but recently my pc hard disk packed up on me. Unfortunately I did not have a note of my Admin login details. Blush

Is there any way I can access the admin area and reset new login name and password? Crazy

I am hoping that I dont have to re-install the software!

Hi Trevmac,

Thanks for the forum post Smile.

If you have FTP access to your web server, there's a way to access your News Manager username/password. Here's how:
  1. Locate a file in your /data folder named account.dat.cgi.
  2. Open the file using a text editor.
  3. You should see lines like this:

    1ˇ1067899319ˇ1067899319ˇˇericˇericˇpasswordˇ9ˇˇ
  4. Each one represents an user. eric is the username and password is the password.


That's it! Cool You can figure out what your username/password is and go from there.
