Archived News Articles Can't Post
Hello,

I developed a website (see link below) that has news headlines in a list on the left using shtml and when you click on a headline, the full article's page opens. Not a problem. The problem is that there is no way to archive all the articles on a seperate archive page. I would like a list only contains 3 or 4 headlines and an 'Archive' link that goes to a page with all the past or past/current articles in the system. As you can see the long list of headlines look very unattractive. Is there a way we can solve this problem?

Hi aharris,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum

Splitting up the headlines like you've described in News Manager isn't something that it's setup to do right now. It's always going to display all the news that is currently in the system. One option is to hide some of the older content to shorten that list a little.

If you are looking for a little more flexibility with how you can display the news items, it may be worthwhile to take a look at Article Manager which has a lot more options when it comes to publishing files.

OK, I saw the demo of Article Manager and I did see all the past/current articles on one page, but is it possible to have just the headlines listed on the left side of the home page (i.e. gabeo.org) similar to News Manager?

Hi AHarris,

Thanks for posting.

Doing what you've described in Article Manager would certainly be possible. It's very flexible so you can do quite a lot with it. And I'd be happy to walk you through setting that up if you wanted to exchange your News Manager and put it towards a copy of Article Manager.
