Restricting options for Regular User Can't Post

I would like to setup a regular user account to allow someone to add a listing, but nothing else. They shouldnt be able to view the listings screen, delete a listing, etc.

I want to be able to link to the add listing page so anyone visiting the site could add a listing, but it would then be reviewed by the administrator before its posted. I want to create only one account for this, not one for each listing.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: [pchell] Restricting options for Regular User [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Mark

Thanks for posting and welcome to the board!

With a few edits to some interface templates it would be possible to set up your Listings Manager so that all regular users can only create new listings and that’s it. The only big thing that will change is that this will be changed for all regular user accounts. Will that be ok?

Just let me know and I’ll post up some instructions for setting this up Smile.

Hi Mark.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I was looking it over again and I think it would just be easier to send you the templates I test this out on.

You’ll find an attached zip file to this post. Before you do anything though, make a back up copy of your /templates/interface folder first.

Then download my zip file, uncompress it and upload to your templates folder. It’s actually a whole new copy of the interface template with the necessary changes made.

Let me know what you think Smile.

Ross:

Any help is desired.

Hi Peppino

Thanks for posting!

I am not quite sure what you are looking for in your post but I noticed that I managed to miss my attachment on the post above so I am thinking that you might just want me to repost it. You’ll find the modified template I was talking about attached to this email.

If I am not on the right track, could you give me a few more details? Keep me up to date with how you are making out Smile.
