New Listing Notification Can't Post
I am wondering if any one knows how to make it so clients can sign up and receive new listings that match their search parameters daily?

If not is anyone capable of doing scripting or programming that would make this possible, even if it required me to do something manual to make it happen? If so please contact me.

The set up is a basic real estate listings site. People could come and view what is currently listed and if nothing matches their need they could fill out a form and when something new comes on the listing program they would be notified via e-mail.

it would seem not so difficult a task since the listing manager already knows what listings are new and can tag them as new, so why cant sub routine send a mass email to a list of addresses after a listing is added.

in my case, I want the email to send to all agents, not customers of the site, but the concept is the same.

can someone from IT please point me in the right direction and I will take a stab at it?

I need to know (if possible) how LM determines a listing is new, and how are the email addresses of the agents stored? Then it seems as though it would only need to be a slight modification to LM that when it flags a listing as new, to start sub routine "new_listing_notify" and it will send to the email addresses in the database.

I want the most basic solution, an email that says "Listing name XYZ was added at XYZ date and time by XYZ agent, please contact XYZ agent for details or click on XYZ listing to view".

Hi there,

Listings Manager does not currently have any email capability, so that wouldn't be possible with the software as it is today.

However, to answer your other questions... each listing has a "Date created" and a "date last updated" field, saved in the listing.dat.cgi, and the agents email addresses are stored in the user.dat.cgi
