Includes Can't Post

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to setup a list of includes? I need to use different menus for different search results. The posting below may explain it a little better.

thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Since search results are on dynamically generated CGI pages, you can't actually have an include on those pages. However, you can specify different templates on your search page. Would that work for you?

Hi Donna,

Thanks for the reply. That would work as long as I can use up to 7 templates. Is this possible? If so, how would I generate these templates for particular searches? I have not used the search part of LM so this is kind of new for me.

Thanks in advance

Hi jonduv,

You can use custom templates by specifying the custom template to use in the search string:

www.yoursite.com/listman/exec/search.cgi?search=1&template=your_custom_template.html

There isn't a way to change what template is being used based off of a search term though - you would need to create separate search pages or work out a different technique to display different templates for different parts of the site. You may want to take a look through the forum for threads on custom templates, as they have been covered pretty extensively in the past.

Let us know if you have any other questions. Smile
