Cart option, again Can't Post
Hi

I'm revisiting the cart idea again and im wondering if anyone knows of a script that would move reference numbers to a seperate page and keep adding them, so a customer can click a button and bring up a pop up with a contact form on, then keep clicking other properties to add them to the list

Any ideas anyone??

Hi lee

I let IT build a adon for Article manager but one of my demands was that it also works with

RM I haven't tested it With RM jet but it works great with AM,

what is dos? it lets u place multiple homes in a cart and than the user can mail it to u or a friend

for more information.

ask IT for it.

just say that u r looking for the favorites adon

made bij IT and IntraSeve.

Hi Lee,

I tracked down that add-on that Maurice is referring to, and it looks like its a custom job, so I'm not sure how widely applicable it may be. Give me a little time to look over how adaptable it is and I'll post back here! :-)

Hey guys,

Sorry for the wait. I've attached the 'Favorites Manager' to this post. Frankly, I've only really had time to give it a quick once-over, but it seems to run fine. Give it a go - and post me back if you have any trouble with it. In the meantime I hope to spend a little more time working with it... Once I figure out all the functionality sussed out and I'm confident there are no glitches, I'll add it to our Free Scripts page.

Thanks for that

Does the DB remember users or not, and if so is it for a session or is it cookie based etc

Any other advice on use? as for the email, how does it work, does it need a server mail path? is there a spam security issue if it does

Sorry to be a pain but this could be a real winner if it works properly

hi all

the installation is simple

we wanted it to work simple and to the point

it uses sendmail it has a verry simple admin option it it but we never use it its all cookie based and u can set the time it expires.

its not a shopping cart more a favorites list or a wish list it. the customer/surfer/user/ can send the mail to a friend or to the site admin.

if u want to see it work look at http://www.buitenhuis.nl also availible in english

we also use it for smale intranets.

we wanted the add-on to be flexible so u can use it for AM RM and automanager we even got it working with pagepulisher and a bunch of other applications. only your brain is the limit.

it is still a test version I guess though, maybe they will tidy the details up when the add it to the proper scripts list

I've got the script working but the email is giving me an error, says theres no mail server available, I've used the same address as formmail uses but its failing, ill keep at it

Sorry Maurice! What I've done is removed it from the above post so it can't be downloaded for the moment. I'm really not sure what our procedure is for crediting people, but since you initially paid for the add-on it seems perfectly fair you should be credited. I'll speak to Theo or Dave about early next week and we'll get something sorted out. :-)

I'm still having a few issues with the favourites cgi, it worked at first then died, so I deleted everything and reinstalled from scratch and it worked again

I've tested the script and it works fine, email is now working also, but now the script has died again

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.








Any suggestion? can you take a look

pick any search and go to the details page, then down at the bottom theres a small add to favourites button

UPDATE

OK may have a clue on this, the server keeps sticking a 'filelock.lock' file, if i delete that were back at it again

UPDATE again

OK, I'm thinking that RM is creating a filelock, this then screws up favourites because its seeing the filelock and thinks it is its own

Can I rename the filelock in the favourites.cgi file, or can i disable creation of the RM one?


Update on the Update again

Changed the filelock filename in favourites.cgi and no real problems since

Might be nice to incorporate this into RM next time round, then we could use image placeholders etc on the favourites

Could you check if there are any problems with the favourites changes

Things look to be working fine now, client is very happy, this could make a big difference to the saleability

Skip to the search page, find something, and at the bottom of the property info, click add to favourites.

I'm running it with the original form for now till im happy with it, and to check for any problems
