Thanks for posting!
I am not sure how you have your database setup right now, but here's how I would do the search you are aiming for.
First, I would create a drop down menu in the database called Condition, or something like that. It would have the options of New or Used. Then, on the search form, I would also use a drop down with the same options and just make sure it's named properly so it searches the appropriate field in your database.
Does that make sense? I don't actually use check boxes myself that often as the drop downs tend to work better.
