Listing Numerical Order Issue Can't Post

Hi,

I'm currently designing a website around the Realty Manager program but my clients and I are having issues regarding the price listing. When we go to the Listings Index, we would like the listings to order from lowest to highest in price. However, while I have it set up to display like that, the number-ordering is flawed.

http://www.exitmiramichi.com/listman/listings/

It's only ordering prices from their first digit, so for example 26800 comes after 150000 when it should come before.

I've looked on the forums and tried some of the fixes I've seen recommended to others but nothing's helped as of yet.

Can someone shed some light on this number problem? Greatly appreciated!

Re: [Lissa] Listing Numerical Order Issue [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Lissa,

To modify the sort order, you'll actually want to skip the listing index page, and use the search results instead. For example, this will show you all listings:

http://www.exitmiramichi.com/listman/exec/search.pl?search=1

To show all of your listings on one page:

http://www.exitmiramichi.com/listman/exec/search.pl?search=1&perpage=100

To change the sort order:

http://exitmiramichi.com/listman/exec/search.pl?search=1&sort_order=5,123,forward

...where "5" is the field number you want to sort on. You can also change "123" to "abc" if you want it to sort alphabetically instead. The above link gets it to sort in the order that you want, so if you link directly there, you'll get the correct results.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you want to modify what shows up any further, or if you have any other questions. :)
