Home Page Order for Agents Can't Post
Is it possible to specify alpha order by a field to list the sales associates (homepage index)?

Hi there,

Agents always order by homepage field 1 by default.

If you want to change that, you can email us (support@interactivetools.com) to get a copy of our search homepage script, which will allow you to modify the sort order in the same way as the regular search listings script. :)

If I change search from hfield1 to another field (when I have the requested script installed), does the new field have to appear in the homepage index template or can it be in the homepage setup? I would like the order to be alphabetical based on agent's last name but don't want it to appear on the page.

Hi there,

Yep, you can sort on anything in the database. The search engine doesn't care what's displayed on the page. : )

I received the email with the zipped file. Reviewed the readme but am confused as I have had Interactive Tools do all installs for me. I do not understand the implications (or even how to use the sent material) of making the change and the risk for the production system. Is there an alternative? You indicated that hfield1 was the field used in determining the order in which the agents are listed in the homepage index. If I create a new field for the content that was in hfield1 and use it for agent's last name will the home index page list the agents in last name order? Right now hfield1 is the field listed as "specialty". It does not appear that the agents are listed in alpha order even using that field but in order by the first letter of the full name field from each profile. I have contacted consulting to determine how the software works by default (sort does not appear to be by hfield1) and to understand my options for consulting support. I don't think I was able to convey my issue clearly and hope to be able to resolve this to my client's delight.
