Global search results v. select search result Can't Post

We have a global search on our real estate site which returns all active listings, sorted by highest price to lowest.

We also have a selective search for 'sold' properties which returns only those marked 'sold'.

On the global search those marked 'sold' also are returned but are marked in red 'sold' in a special field.

We also have a selective search called 'sold by' which returns properties sold by an individual realtor.

What we are trying to do is have a global search return which doesn't show the 'sold' listings...but we don't want to make the listing invisible nor delete it because we want it to show when somebody searches for 'sold by'.

Ok. It took me a while to try to write this in an understandable manner. Hope I did. So...is this possible? Thanks.

Hi there,

Since Listings Manager can't search on something that isn't there, I'd recommend making the field a dropdown with several options -- for example, you could have one option be "Available". That way, you could setup a similar search like you have for "Sold", only making it for listings marked "Available".

Does that sound like it would work for you?

Thanks!

So I would then need to change the status of every one the 350+active listings to show availlable?

Unfortunately, yes. That's the one downside to adding a required field AFTER the site is already live. :)

Thank you, Donna. Right on it, as usual!
