Multi-language sites Can't Post

Looking for something to help me build a property listings site - and this looks promising. However: customer wants english and spanish versions (admin can be english only). Any suggestions on how to handle this? They don't have a need for different agent listings, so could perhaps one way of doing this be to have an english "agent" and a spanish "agent" and set up to display one or the other? That would require listing each property twice (no MLS numbers required). Any other ideas?

One additional Q about search - I'm assuming that the search template will allow search by price, #rooms, lot size, type etc? Correct?

Hi there.

Thanks for posting!

You'll definitely be able to get both languages going. When it comes to listing the same home in both languages, you'll end up having to enter the same information twice (once for each language) but it will be really well organized. You'll actually click one button in the admin section to create a new English listing and then a totally different button to create a Spanish listing.

The searching can be done on any field in your system. There are few different options too. Min/Max (for prices), keyword (for descriptions), exact match.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Hi Ross,

I Did Create in section editor a Listing in Spanish,

Question? what do you means by : "You'll actually click one BUTTON ? in the admin section to create a new English listing and then a totally different BUTTON? to create a Spanish listing. "??

I did not did well as I get this text:

If used, dragSortOrder must be the first field in 'ListPage Fields'!
Sorting Error: Check your 'Order By' fields in the sorting tab for invalid field names.
MySQL returned the following error: Unknown column 'dragSortOrder' in 'order clause'

??????

Hi Eric,

Did you delete the dragSortOrder field? If so, you'll need to remove that from all of the other fields at the top of the page. If you don't want to use a drag sort to organize your listings (and would rather they sort by some different value, such as date) you need to remove all references to it.

Otherwise, you can add the dragSortOrder field back in. :)
