Migrating From LM Can't Post

Hi folks. Anyone migrated from LM to IL and if you have, just how easy was it?

Hi Dave,

The products are pretty different, so there's no real migrate path. You'd basically be starting from scratch, setting up new templates & re-inputting your listings.

If you've got a programmer on staff, you might be able to write a script that moves the database information over, but unless you have hundreds of listings, it'll probably be easier to just copy them over.

Re: [Donna] Migrating From LM [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Donna

Thanks for your reply.

We have hundreds of listings across a few sites, so working out our own migration system could be of value, but time consuming. And then when we calculate in the cost of buying Instant Listing software for each site, it’s a bit of a shot in the backside, as we were hoping for a php/mysql upgrade for LM... which I seem to remember was talked about some time ago... and one of the reasons we have stuck with LM/RM.

Any attempt at migration from our end would come without any guarantees of success and bills for the IL software... not good business from our end of things.

I would actually like to see a full working version of Instant Listings, or a trial version... kind of a try before you buy... not a money back guarantee trial. Especially for those who have migration in mind. Add to that, anything like a day limit on the trial would also be out for us, as we are already working 14 hour days, so trials have to take their place in the priority chain here, which means when we get a spare hour or so.

Shame really, I was hoping for a migrational upgrade... which I think was dangled in the past. If I got that wrong then I apologise, but I’ll take a look through the forums to check when I get a bit of spare time.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave

Thanks for the feed back!

Slightly different to what Donna was saying, we can actually help you migrate from the old system into the new one. There just isn't an automatic way to do it. The migration will involve some custom programming.

If you wanted to email us through consulting@interactivetools.com we can go over it all in more detail for you.

Thanks!

Aye, and I got the time wrong, it was 1840 hours, finished at just before 0100 this morning. Is now 0742. This is a typical day right now.
