User login and restrictions Can't Post

In the same way that Article Manager allow users to certain categories only can I do a similar thing with Doc Builder?

How?

I need to give another party access to only one document group.

Re: [terryally] User login and restrictions [In reply to] Can't Post

Terry,

Thanks for posting. DocBuilder limits the access ability of the "Writer" accounts (can't modify Setup Options or the settings for Document Groups) but there is no mechanism for restricting them to certain Document Groups.

Surprisingly, this isn't a request that's been logged yet, so I've added it to our feature request database for future review.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Wink

Re: [Theo] User login and restrictions [In reply to] Can't Post

In our case, we are interested with regular users adding to the document. I have seen before I think in PHP documentation, where users can post some hints, tips or added info to the documentation.
THis is what we want. We do not have the resources to write all the documentation and will rely on users to put tips and help.
So we like the current package as is, but with addition of Wiki http://wiki.org/wiki.cgi?WhatIsWiki

Hi d2pc,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

While DocBuilder isn't designed to allow users to comment on entries, you raise an interesting point when it comes to resources and writing documentation.

What I will do is add this as a feature request for the program. While I can't guarantee every feature requested will be added, when the time comes to release the next major version of DocBuilder we'll be sure to look closely at the most popular requested features.
