search query includes Can't Post

Hi there,

For my site I use several search query includes. Now, with AM2, somehow it's not working. At http://cyclingpost.com/news2/cgi-bin/artman2/search.cgi?keyword=landis (just an example) you can see that instead of going to the results, it takes me to the advanced search page.

Has anyone got a solution for this?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Try adding "&action=search" on the end of your query. Like this:

http://cyclingpost.com/news2/cgi-bin/artman2/search.cgi?keyword=landis&action=search

Hope that helps!

Hi Dave,

Perfect, that works. The final result is here: http://www.cyclingpost.com/dossiers/landispositive.shtml .

Thanks for the fast reply Smile

Another question though, I hadn't seen that earlier. In search queries, the 'fields' option doesn't seem to work. At least not for me. Has this changed, and what should I use for a specific field, say art_field14 ?

Jonathan

Edit

Looks like I tend to find the answer just after asking the question. By opening the search.cgi I found that 'fields' has been changed to keywordSearchFields .

Including direct search queries within article page is safe? Is it resource intensiev?

Hi Defensetalk,

I used to use a lot of search queries like this, but then skipped to static files using publishcron.cgi wherever I could.

Now with this version of AM, static files are a lot easier to make, and I would only use search query includes where really needed. I'll still need them in a few places, but mostly my site will use static files.

I wanted to do for "related article" search based on keyword field... and if AM2 has anything better that offers pulling of related articles faster, I am ready to know about it. Cool
