publishing to different directories Can't Post

Maybe I'm missing something but none of my searches in the forum or investigating of the documentation has led me to me how to publish articles to different directories depending on the category. In v1 we were able to create categories and associate custom directories with those categories, but there seems to be much less control of the categories in v2. How can I have each category publish to its own folder? Thanks

Hi,

>How can I have each category publish to its own folder?

To publish each category index into it's own directory:
Admin > Publishing
Click "modify" for Category Indexes
In the Published Files - Multiple files radio button selected - in the "Filename:" field enter <catFile>/index

This will publish the category index into the category directory.
For example:
www.yoursite.com/sports/index.shtml

Save and re-Publish the Category Indexes

To publish articles into their category directory:
Admin > Publishing
Click "modify" for Article Pages
In the Published Files (Publish a page for each article) field enter <catFile>/<artFile>

This will publish the articles into their category directory.
For example:
www.yoursite.com/sports/bc_lions_win_grey_cup.shtml

Save and re-Publish the Article Pages.

NOTE: You can also create specific Publish Rules for unique categories that you want published in a different way then the rest of your categories.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any additional details or have any other questions.
