can't see menu on index page Can't Post

Hi guys,

I had to move to a hostgator as my site was hacked at lunarpages, and support there told me I was responsible for security of my site. So, why do I need to pay for host service in a first place, oh well.

Now, that I am at host gator, and moved my db content, the index page does not show the menu with categories on the right side: Articles Index http://www.peruvian-maca.com/articles/index.htm

at the bottom of the index page, there is a next page button, and when I click there, it redirects to the cgi bin where a nice page can be seen with categories on the right side: http://www.peruvian-maca.com/cgi-bin/articles/search.cgi?action=search&page=2&perpage=5&template=articleLists/globalIndex.html&includeSubcats=0, but not on the index. Why is this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

Looks like your new server isn't set to parse .htm files for SSI's. If I view the source of your index page via the web browser, I can see things like this:

<!--#include virtual="/articles/include_globalMenu.htm" -->

This is the code that pulls in the menu. Most hosts require the default extension that Article Manager tries to use, which is .shtml.

To change this, go into Article Manager, choose Admin > Server Settings, and scroll down to "Publish File Extension". Change that to "shtml", then republish your site. Your includes should start working (although the file extension of your pages will have changed to shtml.)

If you need to keep the .htm file extensions, contact your host and ask if they'll allow you to parse .htm files for SSI. :)

I hope this helps!

Donna
