WYSIWYG Font Name & Size wrong is IE7

WYSIWYG Font Name & Size wrong is IE7 Can't Post
I am just playing with AM2 and notice that in Create Article and the WYSIWYG editor, in IE7 (full release) the Font Name and Font size are obscured.

I have checked this is Firefox, and it seems ok, although when I select a font in either browser type, the selected font is not showing.

Is this correct? I have been putting of using the WYSIWYG editor until AM 2 and this would seem a slight problem, although not a show stopper.

Yea, IE7 has some rendering bugs (or features) that are new. We've been waiting to see if Microsoft fixed them for the final release of IE7.

I understand there was also some centering issues where IE7 would center everything.

The final release of IE7 was 2 days ago so we'll be going through the software with IE7 and making any adjustments for a 2.01 release.

I'm running Firefox 1.5.0.7 and the WYSIWYG and font selector seem to be working ok. What version are you using?

Hi Dave,

I am using the same version of Firefox 1.5.0.7. What is a little off putting is that the font and size is only indicated when you activate the relevant drop-down. Can this be changed?

Also, can the size of the overall editor be made larger. I put off using the WYSIWYG editor because the size was too restrictive until AM 2.0 As you seem to have more real-estate now any chance that the editor can be larger?

Final plea - Can you please consider a 'Developer's Version' of AM which can only publish a maximum of ten articles? A restricted version like this would mean that we could develop and test a site, to really check before moving content to the real site. Adobe has a Coldfusion Developer edition which lets me do the same without the cost of a full version CF. Otherwise, at the moment we have to develop offline, then close the site whiile we test behind a curtain of a 'Closed for Maintenance' caption which really frustrates visitors. If you place the limitations in for no more than 10 articles it would help the development be easier. As to cost. Well a hint is that CF Developer is FOC

We use a 3rd party WYSIWYG editor so we don't actually control that. You can see the active font and size in the editor window though, I'm curious, why do you need to see it in the toolbar as well?

You can create the height in the field editor here:
Admin > Database Editor > Edit Article Table > Modify WYSIWYG Field > Field Height.
Also, the last button on the WYSIWYG editor that looks like a square puts it into full screen mode.

I'm not totally sure what you are asking for that you can't do now, what do you want to check before moving to a real site?

Some of our contributors are entrenched Word users, expecting to see everything placed in front of them. I have shyed away from using the WYSIWYG Editor but will introduce it now and just ride the storm.

When changes need to be made or have updates to cope with more content, I can test so much, but there is no other better method than putting it on the server to see how it performs and what problems are encountered. The current licensing arrangement only allows One Install per One Site. It I was able to have a second install on the same domain this would really help. My suggestiuon of a Developer's Version means a limited version but complying fully with the licensing arrangements.

I understand. If you want to have a temporary install on the same domain while upgrading a site, or a demo install on your domain that is not used as a live site and only for showing clients, we often give permission for that.

If it looks or sounds like a live site, though, we'll ask you to remove it or buy a license.

Best thing to do is email support and let them know what you want to do and give them the url where it will be installed. In maybe cases they may be able to accommodate you.
