Twitter Can't Post

Anyone ever experimented anything with Twitter and AM2? Seems like everyone uses it but I don't know if it's worth the time and effort.

Posting anything on Twitter would push people only to visit when they see a message instead of just going randomly throughout the day. But then again so do RSS feeds etc.

Anyone has or is using it to drive traffic to their sites?

Twitter is better as a behind the scene kinda thing. I found that pluging an rss feed annoyed people more. Twitter is not about pluging your site. A good twitter experience should not require any visit to your main site.

I know that sounds odd, but think of i as an extra to people who already follow the regular show.

I think twitter for a lot of people the new link exchange, it just another way to get a link out there. I hate adding twitter posting but it just another thing webmaster must do till something replace twitter as the new big thing. I can remember when you HAD to have a msn group, yahoo groups, newsletter, link exchange, banner exchange programs, blogs, and the list is endless of new "it thing" we all had to put up with just like twitter is now.

Just my 2 cents

Re: [Kimber] Twitter [In reply to] Can't Post

I use twitter to plug my personal site (I also use it for actual tweeting -- a good ratio of signal to noise will keep from annoying people with site plugs) and it definitely helps to drive traffic.

Twitter's more of a way to interact & talk directly to people than just another way to drive traffic, but if people are interested in what you have to say in 140 characters, they might be interested in what you have to say if you have a bit more to say, too. :)

We even have a plugin for CMS Builder in the App Store to do exactly that sort of thing.

While we don't have one for Article Manager, the initial Twitter plugin was originally created as a custom project... if you'd be interested in having something like that developed for you, feel free to contact our consulting department. :)
