Thanks for posting!
By default, Article Manager uses a flatfile database which usually can handle about 1000 articles. Once you start going over that, we recommend that you switch to a MySQL database. It's really easy and there is a way to do that right through the program.
Do you have a MySQL database available on that server? Perhaps you could double check with your host. Let me know what they have to say.
