Searching on Category Name Can't Post

Hi - I'm trying to do a keyword search that would include the category name. I used: <input type="hidden" name="keywordSearchFields" value="name, title, content, summary, attachments"> hoping that "name" would be the field value for category name but it's not. What do I need to put in the value to get it to search on category names?
Thanks, Wendy

Re: [wendy] Searching on Category Name [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Wendy,

There isn't really a way to search the category name, as the article doesn't store it. All the article stores is the category number(s) so you could search on that, but I doubt any of your users would be aware that "News" needs to be searched as "3", for example.

Generally, it's not a very good idea to search on the category name, as there is a limited number of options that would actually work. Instead, normally you would offer a dropdown menu of category names for users to select separately.

Can you let me know how your site is setup? Maybe we can come up with an alternative.

Donna

Thanks Donna. Makes sense to not use that as a search criteria.
