Problem with Admin Control Panel with IE8

I recently updated to,Internet Explorer 8 and I've had absolutely no problems with displaying any website - until the Article manager 2.16 Admin panel. I was on another person's computer and I needed to update an article. They only had IE8 on their corporate computers and I logged into my Article Manager Admin panel. I initially saw that some of the formatting in the control panel was off, which wasn't too bad. Ex: some things that needed to be left-alighed were centered But when I clicked to edit an existing article, I was horrified to see the formatting for form fields was all messed up, and some drop-down boxes refused to work! This wasn't my computer so I couldn't go fooling around with Compatibility Mode (and I shouldn;t need to!). In the end, I couldn't complete my edits. When I looked at the HTML source code for the AM Edit Article page, I see a lot of formatting done with CSS that could be done much more easily with straight HTML - and with much less code. Has anyone looked into whether or not AM works properly with IE8? One of the main advantages of AM for me is that I can edit my articles with any browser from any computer. Honestly, the AM Admin Panel is the ONLY page I have ever seen on the Internet that does not work properly with IE8. Any suggestions to fix this? AM has been at v2.16 since Oct 2007. Has further development stopped? Any plans for an upgrade to fix this?
