Possible AM2 Bug! CategoryNum field doesn't update

Hi All,
I found a possible bug on artman version 2, when I was looking for to hide some fields to non-admin user on my AM2. I found a post in the forum that shows how to do it at http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=71651 .
However, I don't understand why do I have to change the "categoryNum" field type to "textfield". I did that and my AM2 stopped working.
I changed the categoryNum field to into type "textfield". As expected, the field was shown as number, instead of "Category name" it shows up "32" or "35" etc.
The big problem comes up when I try to set the field back to "custom >> article editor : Primary Category" as it comes up and error:
"You cannot have more than one 'Primary Category' field. "
I don't know what to do next. I've checked the database and the field categoryNum seems correct on every article. However the category shown at the list is "(No categories defined)" . I havent lost the articles in the database, but I can not add or edit any because categoryNum field is like disabled. Any help is much appreciated
