Permissions Can't Post

(I've typically only used "writer" until now)...

I'm wondering about the "Trusted Writer".

I can see they have the ability to see "pending" articles... and "visible" articles.

When they submit their articles, is there a way to *force* them to submit articles to Pending for approval, so that only *we* turn it visible?

I am going to be opening it up for people to have log in accounts, and I want them to be able to see their articles (and edit if necessary), but I want to ensure that they can't submit articles directly without approval.

Kind of like an in-between writer and trusted writer, since a Writer can't see their approved articles :(

Possible?

Amber

Re: [dimeco] Permissions [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Amber,

It's not currently possible, because it would sort of defeat the purpose of requiring approval. Sure, the first one would go for approval, but once you had approved the article, they could edit it until the cows come home.

This isn't something we can offer too much support for, but what about adding a link for Writers that sends them to an search-engine generated list of articles they had written? You can use this tutorial to get the link, then try adding it into the interface templates yourself:

Would something like that work?

Hi Donna,

Yes - it probably would in the interim. (I'll be getting the CMS builder shortly, have a custom quote waiting for me to complete, which will do it all - just needed something in the meantime :)

Thanks.

Amber
