One article manager install - multiple websites? Can't Post

Hi,
I am a current user of article manager and have a few licences, for ease of maintaining my websites is it possible to have just one install of article manager to manage my different websites?

I have a dedicated windows server available and all domains are hosted on this. Licence costs are not what I am trying to aviod as I understand I would still need all my individual site licences, I just want to make my life a little easier.

All sites use a very similar design and I assume I could just use different publishing rules to get round the differences.

So, is it possible? Could you do this under consulting if its not possible?

Thanks!

Hi there.

Thanks for posting!

Are all your sites hosted on the same server? That's going to be the key here. As long as Article Manager can access the folders each of your sites use, you should be able to get things going.

It definitely isn't something the software was setup to do so you may find that success varies from time to time depending on what you are trying to do and how you have it all setup. It's also a kind of setup that ends up being difficult for us to support but we'll do everything we can :).

Also, make sure to hold onto those licenses as you are correct in that each license is good for one website at a time.

How does that sound. Let me know what you think :).

Hi,
Yes they will be on the same webserver (Its a windows virtual box) and the software would have access to all sites.

I appreciate your support could not help with everything and I get on great with article manager, its templates, publishing rules etc. but if I could have a point in the right direction with this that would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi Nacho,

Article Manager really isn't intended for this use, but you might be able to use the custom URLs & directories option in the publish rules to publish it to different directories on your server.

It's really not designed for this, so you're likely to run into issues in setting this up... but while you may have to hardcode a bit more than usual, it should eventually setup the way you're describing. :)
