New Server Installation, Get Internal Server Error Can't Post

Long-time AM user, first-time poster here.

I've recently moved to a new server. I installed all the files and folders in the cgi-bin directory via FTP. Unfortunately, I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error when I try to log in to the program at: http://www.moviefreak.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/admin.cgi

I have consulted the online documentation/installation guide-- I made sure to upload the files using the correct mode, I've checked the path to perl (which is okay), and I've re-uploaded the .cgi files only to /exec to see if that would take care of it. All of these possibilities, and the problem persists.

Since I have not been able to log in to the program, I cannot change/adjust the pub/upl directory under the Setup Options--Server menu.

EDIT--I think I was supposed to log in to the program when it was on the original server and make the change to the directory/path for the new server. Without having done it, there is a scripting error now on the new server. Is there a way to save/log-in to the program at all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Smile

Hi there!

It looks like you've got the login screen up now, were you able to get that sorted out?

Re: [Donna] New Server Installation, Get Internal Server Error [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Donna,

The log-in screen comes up, but once I enter my information and click "login" I get the internal server error.

What happens is that the program still has the old server path/directory listed in the setup options, because I never made the change to point it to the new server location. Without having done so, I am not able to get into the program now at its present (new) location. Is there a way to change the path/directory at this point within the program?

Hi there,

Nope, the old paths won't cause that. When moving from one server to another, you generally don't change them until after you've moved servers. (Often, you won't know what the paths ARE until you move.) No matter what, incorrect paths would never cause this error.

It sounds like there's something else going on here, but that's an odd spot to be getting an error, so I can't really tell without looking what might be causing that.

First, doublecheck that all of your permissions are correct. If that's fine, then fill in a support request, and we can take a look for you. :)

Hi Donna,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is an off spot to get an error, isn't it.

Okay, I made sure the file permissions are correct, yet the error doesn't go away. :(

I've sent a support ticket. Thank you in advance!
