Main article question Can't Post

Dear sirs:

I would like to have a "main article" or "breaking news" area on my global index page where the most important article for a given day will appear, without appearing again on the latest articles portion of the page.

I currently have setup a "syndicated content" javascript calling the last article from my "National news" category. However, once I publish an article on the national news it appears twice on my global index page, so I have to rush to publish another 6 articles from other categories to get the repeated article out from my global index (I show the latest 6 articles on my global index).

What I would like is to tell AM maybe with a check box that when I check an article, it is "breaking news" so it should appear on the main article area of my global index page, without appearing on the latest articles section. I would also like to have a big picture appearing on top of the main article lead only on the global index page, with a little lead picture when checking the cateogory pages.

Example:

Let's say the national football team wins the world championship, so I would create the article in my Sports section and mark it as "main". I would then chose a big picture to appear on my globl index page "main" area, and a smaller picture to appear on the lead when checking the Sports section.

It's kind of using the "featured article" check box but preventing it from publishing the article on my main index...

Is this possible?

Thx!!!

Re: [svsanchez] Main article question [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi there!

Take a look at this tutorial for how to do a different layout for a "top story" vs. the rest of your articles:

I hope this helps. :)
