Email to a friend? Can't Post

I do not understand, why there is not a form for submitting the email to a friend, so it does not have to popup in the email client. Many of our users will be from schools, where they problerly not have access to own email client.

We have setup the system to work with send mail under setup, why not use this to send the email as well?

We just wanted to keep it simple. There can be problems with having a form that sends email to just anyone on a server because spammers can be tempted to abuse it.

You have lots of options though. You could remove that email a friend link if you don't want it, or you could use almost any free email a friend form and use placeholders to pass the article title and url to it.

In answer to Diness. I actually prefer the basic email link as we found that people assumed that using a submission form would mean that their emails were harvested for other uses and it was being used less and less.

I would suggest using any one of the many off-the-shelf solutions to create a form pop-up window but also offer a basic email link to.

Diness, I agree with you. I have the same requirements.
