Database Editor Feature Can't Post

I think I found an undocumented feature. I tried to set up a validation for a new data field within the database editor. I selected the 0-9 and the other category. (creating a dollar amount field and wanted to be able to enter $xx.xx) The editor allowed me select two check boxes, but trying to enter the amount on an article gives me an error. It is only checking for the first box checked.

See attached images:
1. validation - article data field validation setup
2. value - what was entered in the article setup field
3. error message

Is the problem on the data validation setup, should only be able to select one checkbox or is the error on the validation routines?

Re: [jcocking] Database Editor Feature [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Jeff.

Thanks for posting!

That's definitely a strange one you have there. I have been trying to re-create this locally but haven't got the same error message.

From what I can tell, I am using all the same settings as you but my article saves when I use 15.66 as the value.

Do you think you could send in a support request on this one for me? That way I can have a much closer look at what's going on:

How does that sound? I look forward to hearing from you Smile.

Re: [ross] Database Editor Feature [In reply to] Can't Post

I figured it out after reviewing the variable setup. I had declared the variable an Integer in the Database Field Setup. To keep others from doing the same dumb thing I did, I would suggest if you select an integer, then the validation fields are grayed out or an error routine and notice is presented if you try mis matching validation with database field setup.

thanks
