Auto login Can't Post

Hello

AM2 is looking very good well done interactive tools.... I am hoping that you could give me a hand with the following

I use a 1 click url from my PC to login to Article manager.

The first one still works with AM2 http://www.site.com/cgi-bin/AM2/admin.cgi?id=username&pw=password&login=1

HOWEVER the 2nd one that logs into the edit page of an article does not. I used to use

http://www.site.com/cgi-bin/AM2/admin.cgi?art_edit=artnumber&id=username&pw=password&login=1

I have tried using action=articleEdit&num=artnumber but to no avail.

So what I am looking for is a one click url that will login with my password and username and go to the edit page of a specified article
Kind Regards

George

Hi George,

You can auto login with a link like this:
admin.cgi?loginUsername=USERNAME&loginPassword=PASSWORD&action=loginSubmit

But there's no means to login and then go to a page. I can add that feature in 2.01 though.

That would be great Dave. I use a comments script and I like to link to the edit page in AM2 with the direct link to the art_num

Hi Dave

Did anything get added to 2.01 or 2.02 to make a one click url that will login with my password and username and go to the edit page of a specified article

Hi George,

Try this:
http://www.SITENAME.com/cgi-bin/artman2/admin.cgi?loginUsername=USERNAME&loginPassword=PASSWORD&action=articleEdit&num=$article.num$

Just replace your SITENAME, your USERNAME and PASSWORD in the URL with your details and this should do it for you. :)

Re: [Damon] Auto login [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Damon

Thank you for getting back to me. However the code does not work, when I am logged out of AM2 it seems like the bit of code needs action=loginSubmit.

Can you check it again AFTER you have logged out?

I was looking at the following thread that is using a similar login
http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=51299

I tried using the same type of code on that thread

http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/artman2/admin.cgi?loginUsername=USERNAME&loginPassword=PASSWORD&action=loginSubmit&nextAction=articleEdit&num=$article.num$

But the above does not work if you are logged out of Am2

Hi George.

Thanks for the update!

The link itself looks good to me. So the only two things I can think of getting you to double check for me right now would be that you are in fact using version 2.02 and that you are actually replacing USERNAME and PASSWORD with correct details.

So basically, you don't actually have USERNAME in your URL still. Does that make sense? If you are still having trouble after this, could you send me an email with the URL you are using so I can test it out?

Either way, I look forward to hearing from you Smile.

Re: [ross] Auto login [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi everyone.

I just emailed George an update to the link he is using. Basically, I there is actually a couple small changes that needed to be made. Guess I just had to see it up close Smile.

Anyway, all that needed to change was an "action=loginSubmit" needed to be added and then the action= that was already in there needed to become nextAction.

So the URL would look like this:

admin.cgi?action=loginSubmit&loginUsername=USERNAME&loginPassword=PASSWORD&nextAction=articleEdit&num=125

I'll post another update if anything else gets changed Smile.
