Article display order Can't Post

Help,

I have some of my articles displaying on the front page of our site: http://www.greenpages.ie The problem is that the articles in the cat: news, appears in the reverse order. We need it to display with the newest posts first. What do I need to do to sort this problem out.

Many thanks

Hi Glenn,

You can change the sort order in the publish rules -- go to Admin -> Publishing, and modify the publish rule for the page that is showing up incorrectly. The last option on the page is the sort order. :)

If your entire site is showing up with the wrong sort order, you can change the global sort order by going to Admin -> Database Editor, and modifying the "Articles" database. One of the fields there will be the global sort order.

The default is:

-featured, -date, title

This sorts articles with the "Featured" button checked first, then by date (newest to oldest; without the - in front, it's oldest to newest), then alphabetically by title.

I hope this helps. :)

Donna

Re: [Donna] Article display order [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey Donna,

Thanks for the input. I have just inherited the site and was struggling to find the settings you metioned above.

It didn't solve the problem. But I hid the oldest article that was displaying first. that seemed to fix the problem.
Thanks again
