category as link Can't Post

Hi

me again - sorry.

I just wanted to find out if I can have it so that when a user clicks on one of my categories it goes straight to an external page - in this case my calender.

I have a sub category called events and when clicked on I want users just to go to the calendar.

Ok what I have done - is create a new category template with a re-direct in the head.

it seems to work.

Will this mess anything up or is it OK to do it this way?

Hi Margaret.

Thanks for posting!

Sounds like a good workaround you got going there. Having that redirect in there isn’t going to effect anything so you should be good to go.

An alternative I was thinking of would have been to just hardcode a link to your calendar right onto the category list template. With your method though, you can have the calander link appear in the middle of your list where as with mine, it would either go at the top or the bottom of your list.

Keep me up to date with how you are making out Smile.
