"can contributors change their password" and more...? Can't Post

is it possible that writers (trusted writers etc.) can change their default password which was given them from the admin for their first log-in, so in case that some bullsh#t is done under one accounts name, the person owning that account can be held responsible because even the admin doesn't know the new password( of course, the admin should still be able to delete any account, or, in case the old userdefined pw is lost, to give a temporary new one without knowing the old one!)?!
if not, that would be an very nice feature!
any chances to see some kind of workflowmanagement in 2.0 (like being able to send articles approved or waiting for approval with comments, suggestions, corrections directly from am to the stored emailadress of the respective author or other authors, or to write an internal comment under the resp. articles so that the author sees them when he logs on. some kind of schedule or store for every author where other people can leave messages for him etc. ?)
because i'm from germany, would it be possible to change all standard and automatic additions (like "by", or "copyright") to german?
i also wasn't able to upload any material (pdf, mpegs) to the demosite of am-how exactly do i do it (wasn't possible under both upload-"possibilities")?
also, pls make it possible that one can attach more than one (and different ones) pdfs, mpegs etc. not just under the summary, but also under the full article, with the possibility to name that attachement, not just "click here..." (may have demanded that before...?!)

thx!

kind regards

Hi,

>is it possible that writers (trusted writers etc.) can change their default password..
Only Administrators can create and change passwords for Writers, Trusted Writers and Editors. The administrator has access through the Setup Options under the Login Accounts to view all users passwords. If a user requires their username or password changed, the Administrator can do that.

>any chances to see some kind of workflowmanagement in 2.0
For article approval, all pending articles once submitted by a Writers can be viewed in the Article Editor by choosing "Pending" under the Status dropdown list and clicking Search. The editor or admin can then select the article they want to review for approval and publish.

>would it be possible to change all standard and automatic additions (like "by", or "copyright") to german?
The text that you are referring to can be changed or removed by editing the publish template files. Remember to make a backup of your templates before modifying. After modifying the templates, upload them to your server and re-Publish your articles.

>i also wasn't able to upload any material (pdf, mpegs) to the demosite
This feature isn't available in the demosite but to upload different file types you need to first add the file extention (pdf, mpegs) to the "Accepted upload extensions" list in the Setup Options under the General tab. You will also want to set the "Max file size for uploads" too.

To have a PDF attachment downloadable from the main article, here is a link to a forum thread discussing how to do that:

Thanks for the comments. :)

hi,

"Only Administrators can create and change passwords for Writers, Trusted Writers and Editors. The administrator has access through the Setup Options under the Login Accounts to view all users passwords. If a user requires their username or password changed, the Administrator can do that."

any plans to change that like i described? would be very helpfull!

"For article approval, all pending articles once submitted by a Writers can be viewed in the Article Editor by choosing "Pending" under the Status dropdown list and clicking Search. The editor or admin can then select the article they want to review for approval and publish."

i know that, but again, pls read my suggestions above!

"The text that you are referring to can be changed or removed by editing the publish template files. Remember to make a backup of your templates before modifying. After modifying the templates, upload them to your server and re-Publish your articles."

thanks.

ok

"To have a PDF attachment downloadable from the main article, here is a link to a forum thread discussing how to do that:

thank you, but this is a workaround!
any chance we might see an improved, more comfortable filemanagment-system in 2.0 the way i described above?

Hi again,

There is development plans for improved handling of attachments and images for version 2 of Article Manager. This would hopefully include attachment names and link names.

We currently don't have plans to add an article notification via email or a writer password control feature to Article Manager but they are good ideas and I will definetly add your suggestions to our feature request list for review.

Thanks for the feedback. :)
