Windows installation Can't Post

Hi

Once in awhile I am doomed to install CGI scripts on a windows server (sorry Bill just a joke). Taking a look at the online AM documentation I do not find much information on this subject. Unix is straight forward in doing this… upload files, do the path thing with "Perl" and "send mail", chmod on files and directories ect.

What about Windows? I have perl running on a windows 2000 server with Information Server 5.0. Who gets what files rights. Does AM have an Windows installer? Any links or info about this topic is of help.

Re: [Ferry] Windows installation [In reply to] Can't Post

You shouldn't have any problems, we actually develop on Window 2000 and the software is tested for windows and unix platforms. All you need to do is make sure that whatever user perl is running as (usually IUSR_machinename) has read/write access to everything that needs to be writable (as listed in the docs).

There's actually a link under item 7 of the Artman install intructions (Setting Permissions) with "More information on Windows File Permissions". Here's a link to that page: http://www.interactivetools.com/docs/doc.cgi?/articlemanager/install/doc_page3.html

Give it a try and if you run into any problems just let us know, we're here to help! : )
