WYSIWYG selection deletes field Can't Post

I'm sure it's something simple I need to do, but haven't had this problem before. The WYSIWYG editor selection for a field like Summary or Article in the setup causes the field itself to disappear in the Article Editor.

We've upgraded to 1.41 and are using Firefox/1.5.0.1. Is this a browser-specific issue or is there something in the config file to set?

Thank you.

Problem was no WYSIWYG2 in the images folder. (oops) [In reply to] Can't Post

Found the problem here:
http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=47325;search_string=WYSIWYG;#47325

I truly thought we'd followed everything step by step in the upgrade, but uploading this folder slipped by.

Am posting this because I know we can't be alone in this. It's the most puzzling issue in the world when you don't have this information. Maybe this post with this heading will save someone time searching for the solution in the forums...I almost never found it.

Thank you. And thanks for these forums!!!!

Hi matrix,

Thanks for posting! Smile

I'm glad to hear that you've managed to get the WYSIWYG editor working in Article Manager by uploading the /wysiwyg2/ directory.

Thanks for updating us on this and if you have any other questions or comments, feel free to let me know! Smile

Re: [MikeB] Problem was no WYSIWYG2 in the images folder. (oops) [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks, Mike. I know this sounded like a no-brainer, but it appears that a lot of us do trip up on this.

Problem was the replacement of the old "html area" wysiwyg editor... in the heat of upgrading it's sometimes easy to drop an instruction you really meant just to save for last.

wysiwyg2 is working perfectly now, and we've slimmed it down for our clients (for their own protection) to include only a very few features. Thanks for making that possible! I agree with Nigel Parry that installing the wysi on a gorgeous client site without modifications is the quickest way to the world's ugliest website. People do love to play with the colors, the fonts, the aaaarghhhh....

Anyhow, it's a nice feature available through Article Manager...placed there as an option, as you did, perfect!
