WYSIWYG editor Can't Post

Hi all,

I have just updated from 1.09 to 1.2 mainly for the WYSIWYG editor, have followed the readme.txt file and uploaded the files as shown but i can not see the editor when i go in to create or modify an article. I am using ie6 so that should be ok. Am i missing something here ?

Many thanks

Mark

Go to Setup Options in the control panel, and under the General tab, scroll down to the "art_content" section, and ensure the drop-down menu is set to WYSIWYG - by default this is set to "Textarea".

Hope this helps :)

Still don't get WYSIWYG even after changing those settings and I am using IE 6.0. Any suggestions?

Hi Nate,

It sounds like you went through the right steps:

1. Upgrade to the version that includes the WYSIWYG editor.

2. Login to Article Manager and in the Setup Options change field type for art_summary and art_content to WYSIWYG.

3. Create a new article or edit an existing article using a IE 5.5 + browser for Windows.

A few things to check:
- confirm that the javascript is enabled for your browser
- confirm that htmlArea directory and all the files within it have been uploaded into the /artman/images/ directory.
- login using an IE 5.5 + browser on Windows - the WYSIWYG editor makes use of features that are only available in IE 5.5 + for Windows.

If it is still not working, send us an email to support@interactivetools.com and include the Article Manager login URL, username and password so we can take a look.
