The 'Create Article' link in the grey top bar.....

Ok, I admit it, I'm pretty lazy, but my curiosity has finally got the better of me :) The 'Create Article' link in the grey top bar has never worked properly for me, does anyone else ever use it? Both the 'Create Article' & 'Article Editor' link in the grey top bar have always gone to the same place, the article list. When i hover over it i get this code http://www.blahblahblah/admin.cgi?art_add=1 which seems to indicate it will work, however, when I view the source for the page, a snippet from the link code, i get....
onmouseout="btnHide(this)" onclick="location.href='admin.cgi?art_list=1'" CLASS="NavOff"><A class="fmb" onfocus="blur()" href="admin.cgi?art_add=1">
You can clearly see the onclick is going to the wrong place. To actually create a NEW article i can only click the 'Create New' button within the main area. This is not a one off, ALL the installs I have done have this problem. Anyone seen this before?!?!? (and why the hell do my markup codes not work properly in this post?) hehe :)
.:Sticky New Media:.
