Hi, The best way I can think of to display the latest articles from one category at the top of your front page followed by the rest of the current articles from other categories doesn't require template modification but instead would make use of the Featured Article checkbox and sorting. For example, if you want the latest 3 articles from Category A to appear at the top of the Front Page article index you could select the Featured Article checkbox for each of those articles. They then appear at the top of the index page followed by the latest articles from other categories. When the featured articles in Category A are no longer current, uncheck the featured checkbox when editing that article and it will be sorted by date into the article index.
