Search Engine not functioning correctly Can't Post

For some reason the simple search retrieves all articles that have been published rather than only the ones that have some relational match with the text I enter in the search box. For example, I can type a nonsense string like "oyiq3h4ytq234lnk" and it will retrieve all published articles rather than none. It will do the same for when I enter a keyword only found in the title or body of one of the articles. I am using the default template codes provided with the template package for search_form.html, search_results.html, and included it using the same block of code as index/default.html. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Hi Chris,

It’s hard for me tell what the problem could be, I'll need to take a closer look. Would it be possible to fill out a support request form and provide me with your FTP information. You can fill out a support form and provide FTP here:

http://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

Also, if you could give me the URL to your admin.cgi file along with the username and password required to log in as the Adminstrator. You can add this information into the "Summary of Problem" field on the support form.

Thanks! :)

I figured out the problem, I actually wasn't using the default search form as I had modified it to change the look and feel and had forgotten to delete some old code so the textbox form element wasn't named properly. Thanks for the quick response though.
