Hi,

I am using Article Manager and very happy with the performance. I need help to figure out how i can re-point a category I have created with article manager to another address?

i.e. currently my Forums category is pointing to http://mysite/artman/publish/cat_index_10.shtml I want the Forum to point to http://mysite/forums/index.php

Thanks

Sam

Hi Sam,

To have a category link to to a specific URL you will need to hardcode that in the template.

Here is what I did to create a category link to a specific URL:

1. Delete or hide the Forums category. The link will be hardcoded so it isn't needed.

2. Opened up the /templates/category_list.html template.

3. After <!-- /templatecell : row --> I added the following:

<tr><td bgcolor="#FFF9D8"><a href="http://www.yourforumsurl.com" class="navlnk2">Forums</a></td></tr>

4. Save and upload the modified template to your site. Login to Article Manager and re-publish all.

The category link for Forums will now be available to link to another location.

Hope that helps. :)
