Newbie on the block Can't Post

Hey, I am new to AM and this forum. I am looking for several items. I continue to look through the forums but havn't located them yet. If you can help I would appreciate it.

1. How to update interface changes? I have changed some things ie. bg color in the config.ini but doesn't seem to change it. is there a publish aspect to this as with the main template?

2. A horizontal and vertical dropdown/flyout menu which dynamically works with AM and styled with css.

3. How to make index.php(shtml etc) not display a summary list but serve as its own independant page.

4. I am having issues with getting images incorporated into my pages. I think this is just my own problem but any posts would help.

5. How do I create a custom submission form in AM? Does this have to be created separately and then hard coded?

Thank you,

Hi Kenosis.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the board!

I’ll go over your questions one at a time Smile.

1. The interface should actually change automatically when you make a change to the .ini file. I would need to take a closer look at your system to see why that wasn’t happening. All you’ll need to for this is to send me a support request here:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

2. This one is more tricky. In fact, I have really seen may examples of this setup right now so I am not quite sure what options you have. If anyone has some tips here, we would both appreciate hearing from you.

3. What I find works best here is telling Article Manager to not publish an index page for you and then just create index.php yourself as a stand alone page. Most of the things that show up on an index page are actually created as separate files and then included into one place to make a page. If you wanted to let me know what you want on your index page, I can go into more detail on what files you’ll want to include.

4. There are lots of ways to get images going with Article Manager. Could you let me know how you were doing it and then a description of what’s happening compared to what you actually want to happen?

5. I am not quite sure what you mean hear but I think you are wanting to have some different fields on the page that you create articles with. If that is the case, check out Setup Options and look for the Article Fields section (it’s on the General tab). Here you can create up to 20 new fields.

And there we have it. There are definitely a few areas here that I can go into more detail but it will be better if I had some more details so have a read and get back to me Smile.

yes, thats right. hard code your php form and then insert it into a template which you will call through the category template form.html

does that make sense to you?
