Multiple Copies of Article Manager Can't Post

I'm not certain what version of Article Manager I have (v1 or v2), but I'm wondering if it is possible, or even necessary, to have multiple copies of Article Manager for one website. I have multiple divisions that want to create and publish their own articles to their home pages, but then I want to have a single department that they all report to collect only the top articles from each division and publish them on the department's home page. Is this possible? How could this be accomplished? Does it require more than one copy of the software running on the server?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your email. :)

While it's certainly possible to have multiple copies of Article Manager running on one server, this would indeed require multiple licenses.

However, from what you're describing, I think you could simply setup a category for each division, and then the single department they report to would be the "homepage". You can set what directory each category publishes into, so it would keep everything quite separate as well.

Let me know if that helps at all, or if you have any other questions. :)

Yes, I understand the advantages of using one of the fields to categorize the different departments, but I would like the headlines to display not only on the department home page, but also the division home pages as well. Does this pose a potential problem? At the division level, would you filter the results of the headliners to include just the category associated with that division? Then at the department level could you filter the results to only include those headlines with a priority of "1"?

Hi there,

Not a problem at all. You can set it up to display whatever headlines you'd like on any category. With publish rules, you can easily create new headline lists based on just about any specifications you'd like. :)
