Improvement Ideas Can't Post

Having been using ArtMan for a few months now, I do have some constructive comments:

1st--- Categories should be directories. I run about 47 caterogies, and it would make my file structure easier to manage if things were sorted into directories. It would also allow me to password protect certain areas.

2nd--- Being able to change the interface. I would like to have a customized look and feel to my interface. I saw mention of that in a future release.

3rd--- Templates. I am a content person, who dabbles at design... I'd pay for access to a Template database that offered new look ideas, rather than fuddling about trying to create new looks.

4th---- Intergate ad serving... It would be nice to see an Advertising rotation module added to the package... something that would manage 468 banners, 120x600 Skyscrapers and Pop-up code, with stats and weight fuctionality.

Lastly--- Adding an e-mail list for Writers. I am currently using 70+ writers, each has access, it would be a nice addition to be able to create a mailing list of writers as you put them in... be able to sort that list by access... This way when I need to do a group mailing, I can do it from the interface, and make sure I am hitting all the active contributors.

Hope this helps, and more importantly I hope some of these ideas make it into future upgrades.

Any thoughts on a PhP version?

I would agree with all of your suggestions, especially:

1st--- Categories should be directories. I run about 47 caterogies, and it would make my file structure easier to manage if things were sorted into directories. It would also allow me to password protect certain areas.

3rd--- Templates. I am a content person, who dabbles at design... I'd pay for access to a Template database that offered new look ideas, rather than fuddling about trying to create new looks.

These would be extremely helpful!

Thanks for your suggestions!

I wanted to let you know we'll be opening up all the admin templates in the next minor release. So on suggestion #2 you'll be able to customize the look and feel of the admin program very soon (we're working on the next release right now).

The one caution would be that we're not likely to provide any documentation for that. But if you're comfortable editing the standard templates you'll likely be able to modify the admin program templates without too much trouble.
